Hello and welcome back to our third edition of Monday's Mindful Minute!
With all of the uncertainty happening in the world around us, it's more important then ever to cherish every moment we can with our loved ones. The road ahead of us can seem daunting at times, and that's why it's so important we work together and remain positive because even the faintest glimmer shines in the dark.
For many of us, this break from our normal routine can seem like a recipe for disaster. School cancellations, work closures, and an inability to participate in our favorite activities can be difficult for any family, but with a little creativity we can find a silver lining in these experiences. In fact, spending our time wisely is one of the most essential things we can focus on to alleviate the stress. It can be tempting to sit in front of the television and catch up on Netflix, but this can have a profoundly negative impact on our mood.
When we invest our energy into constructive tasks, the feeling of accomplishment and self-fulfillment we gain can be a powerful mood boost. Oftentimes, school and work are the most common ways we experience that feeling of accomplishment, but isolation provides us a unique opportunity to channel our energy into new avenues. We encourage you to take up a new hobby, to learn a new skill, and bond with your loved ones through new activities. Happiness is ultimate the tool we have in fighting boredom, so remember to make time for the things you love and stay active.
